1. (humorous, informal) A monument in the form of an arch, proposed in 2025 by president Donald Trump to be built opposite the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States.
   • When it comes to buildings, Trump favours the neoclassical style beloved by most dictators and, apart from the blingy ballroom extension to the White House that is already underway, there are plans for a 250ft-high triumphal arch – dubbed the Arc de Trump – and for a 24-carat gold commemorative coin featuring a portrait of himself, naturally, even though it is against federal law to have a portrait of a living president on US coinage. 2026 April, “Editorial”, in Art Monthly, number 495, page 15:
