From New Sanskrit आदिवासी (ādivāsī).

Meanings

1. A member of a heterogeneous set of ethnic and tribal groups considered the aboriginal population of South Asia.
   • These new set of decisions may or may not be put into operation, but the process of constructing suspicion and othering of the Jummas is already in place.
